My Version of Messy Buns
I've had a few requests to show how I do my messy buns. There are different ways you can do it but I think this looks best & is SO fast.

I scrunch up all of the hair into a ball with my hands.

Wrap your rubber band around it. I wrap the elastic twice so it is VERY easy to come out (it really isn't hard to get out). Now that her hair is getting so long, I usually have to do 2 different rubberbands around the messy bun so it stays close together & isn't so HUGE. But if your girlie's isn't as long, you should just need one.

Tug at some strands to make the messy bun look even.

Spray to hold & that's it!! Easy, right?

I do do it differently once in awhile, but this is what I usually resort to. If you have a way you do your messy buns & would like to share with all of us, email me step by step instructions & we'll post it for everyone to see.

I'm glad you posted this. It seems the longer my daughter's hair gets, the harder it is to do a messy bun. I'm even thinking of cutting off a few inches to make some of the styles we do easier.
This looks like a great way to do the buns, I'm going to try it. Thanks!
This looks so easy on your blog but I still can not do it--maybe my daughter's hair is too long, it just sticks so far out and doesn't look as cute. I usually pull half of the pony up a little on the last pull through and then divide the remaining in half and tuck it under the elastic--not the best way but it works...I like your way if I can figure it out!! I love your blog by the way!
I agree with The Johnson's...you make this look so easy, but I can't figure this out for the life of me. My daughters hair looks to be the same length as your daughters. I tried, without success, for nearly 30 minutes on one side to do this, and I just doesn't work. My daughters "buns" if you could call them that, stuck way out from her head and looked nothing like this. I wish there was a way you could expain it a little better - how you actually gather the hair up and where exactly you put the elastics - for hair retards like me!
